Ways to Prevent Antibiotic Resistance…
-
Don’t ask your doctor for antibiotics to fight respiratory infections such as the common cold. Those illnesses almost always are caused by viruses. Antibiotics won’t work on them.
-
Don’t use antibiotic soap. It gives bugs more chances to develop resistance.
-
If a doctor gives you an antibiotic, take it as prescribed. don’t stop when you feel better or your illness may return, and next time the drug may not work as well.
-
To fight germs without drugs, wash your hands often.
-
Sneeze into the crook of your elbow instead of covering your mouth with your hand. That way, you won’t get germs on your hands and spread them.
-
Wash your hands after you blow your nose.
