This week we will be celebrating Christmas. Our hearts and minds are in sync as we gather gifts, food and send out invites to friends and loved ones.
Why all the fuss, someone might say, it’s just another pagan holiday. Pagan, is defined as worldly or not truly glorifying God. Well, there are lots of things that are pagan that people embrace; the money in our pockets is pagan, amusement parks, sports arenas and the theaters people often visit are pagan, and our educational system is also, you guessed it, pagan.
When it comes to celebrating Christmas, believers understand that it not the worldly or financial part of the holiday that excites us, it’s the remembrance of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Even though we realized he was not born on December 25th we use this date to celebrate and give gifts because God had given us the most wonderful gift of all, his only begotten Son.
So celebrate with all your hearts knowing that our salvation has come from the LORD!
Live and be a blessing!
