In this Holiday Season we see many who are excited about the holidays. They are making good use of their time by shopping for gifts, writing and sending cards to friends and relatives, and buying all the traditional foods that will make a great family feast.
Doing all of the aforementioned activities are fine but we don’t want to forget the real reason for the season which is Jesus. When Mary was about to deliver her first born Son she and her husband Joseph went to find shelter at the local inn but unfortunately they were told by the inn keeper that there was no room. Is it possible that the innkeeper did not know that Mary was about to give birth to the Savior of the world, Emmanuel, God in flesh? If he had known, then maybe he would have made some room for the King of Kings.
Do we find ourselves acting like the innkeeper when Jesus knocks at the door of our heart? I pray we are not like that innkeeper but let us make room for Jesus, let us allow him to come into our abode, so that he might be our all in all and we will be blessed above measure with eternal life.
Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Live and be a blessing!
